Email hello@bitting.app. We answer within two business days.
Tell us what you were doing and what happened. If you can, include the name of your building or property manager. It is usually what lets us find the problem. Never send us your Wi-Fi password; we do not need it and cannot use it.
Your property manager can help faster
Bitting is provided to residents by whoever manages their building. They issue claim codes, they decide which unit belongs to whom, and they can reissue a code the moment you ask. We cannot do any of those things on their behalf, so for anything about which unit or which code, they are the faster route.
A claim code will not work
Codes are single use and expire. A code that is wrong, expired, or already used all give the same message, deliberately. Telling them apart would let someone guess at other people’s codes.
Check for a typo first: the code has no letter I, L, O or U, so anything that looks like one is a 1 or a 0. If it still fails, ask your property manager for a new one.
You changed your password and nothing reconnected
That is expected. Changing the Wi-Fi password for your home disconnects every device using it, including the phone you changed it on. Each device needs the new password entered once.
A change takes around thirty seconds to apply. If the app says it could not confirm the change, the old password is still in effect. That is the honest answer rather than a guess, and you can try again.
A password will not save
A password has to be at least as long as your building requires, usually eight characters, and no longer than sixty-three.
If it fits those rules and the app still says That password cannot be used, choose a different one. Nothing is wrong with your account, and nothing has changed: your old password keeps working until a new one is confirmed.
You lost your phone, or got a new one
Open the app on the new device and choose to sign in with a code sent to your recovery email. That signs you in and signs the old device out, which is the point: whoever has the old phone loses access.
If you still have both, use Add a device in Settings on the phone you already use. That adds the new one without signing the first one out.
Deleting your account
Open Settings in the app and choose Delete my account. You can also ask us at hello@bitting.app without installing anything.
Deleting removes your recovery contact, your enrolled devices and your link to your unit. It does not change your Wi-Fi password, and your home network keeps working exactly as it did. Your building still manages it. See the privacy notice for what is kept and why.
Face ID stopped working
If you added or removed a face or fingerprint on your phone, the key Bitting uses is deliberately invalidated. That is the security working, not a fault. Sign in again with a code sent to your recovery email and the app will set up a new one.
Bitting never receives your face or fingerprint. Your phone performs the check and tells the app only whether it passed.
